Uthina
Uthina, also written Oudna, is a Roman colony founded in the reign of Augustus and visited from Tunis. Its large amphitheatre, its Capitolium, the Grand Baths and the Villa of the Labyrinth, a richly decorated house with mosaics, can still be seen.

Visiting Uthina
Uthina was an important Roman colony established under the Emperor Augustus, in the province of Africa Proconsularis, and it shows the expansion and consolidation of Roman influence in the region. The site keeps an amphitheatre that is large and well preserved and could hold thousands of spectators, a Capitolium dedicated to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, public baths including the Grand Baths, and the Villa of the Labyrinth, a richly decorated Roman villa with mosaics. It also shows indigenous Berber culture meeting Roman civilization. On the archaeological journey Uthina is the second visit of the sixth day, after Thuburbo Majus, before the drive to Tunis.
