This page will cover what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.
What the forms on this site ask for
- The planning form asks for your rough dates, who is travelling and an email address. A second step, which you can skip, asks for a first name, the journey that interests you, where you would like to stay, a budget band and anything else you want to tell us.
- The planning guide form asks for an email address and nothing else.
- The call form asks for the days and times that suit you, your time zone and an email address, and a phone number if you choose to give one.
- The group request form asks for the name of your organisation, the kind of trip, your rough dates, how many people are travelling, a budget band and an email address. A first name, a phone number and anything else you want to tell us are optional. It does not ask for the name of anyone on the trip.
No form on this site asks for payment details or passport details.
Where it goes
What you send reaches our team by email, and we reply to the address you gave. We reply within one business day, US Eastern time. If an enquiry cannot be delivered, the server keeps a copy in its log so that it is not lost, and the form offers you an email with the same details to send yourself.
What we measure
We count which pages are read, with Vercel Analytics, so that we know which of them are worth writing more of. It records the page you opened, the address you arrived from, your country and the kind of device you are reading on. It is the only third party script on this site, and it asks you for nothing.
We also count which way in people use. This site offers four, WhatsApp, the planning guide, a call and the enquiry form, and until we counted them we could not tell a page that works from a page that is merely visited. So when you tap one of those, or our number, or our address, we record that it happened, which action it was, and the page you were on when you took it.
What we do not record is anything you typed. Not your name, your email address, your phone number, your dates, your notes, the journey you designed, or the reference on your enquiry. Those reach us in the enquiry itself, which the section above describes, and they are never sent to anyone measuring this site.
